Most weeks during the business of seeing, cleaning and restoring rugs I discover pieces, often old, which are no longer suitable for their owner or are part-exchanged. I take them for hand washing and tidying if necessary. Here they are, ready for another 100,000 footsteps. They are all interesting, authentic pieces - fun, enjoyable and very inexpensive. Enjoy !!
PERSIAN TABRIZ RUG. A well woven and interesting example of a rug from the first half of the 20th century from the city of Tabriz in north west Persia. It is intact and in good condition. Reference 1820. 250 x 154cms. €190.
TURKISH VILLAGE RUG an old example from Central Anatolia probably around the village of Kirsheshir. There is some corrosion in the black which is an indication of some age. It is in good condition and complete with original sides and kilim ends. Reference 1962. Size 204 x 117cms. Euros 195.
INTERESTING OLD BELOUCH PRAYER RUG from north east Persia with lustrous wool and subtle colours. Excellent condition. Reference 1745. 140 x 98cms. Euros 100
BELOUCH RUG. A nicely woven piece from Belouch cottage industry near Meshed in north east Persia. The highlights in the tails of the peacocks and also of some flowers are in mercerised cotton. Reference 1679. 170 x 100cms. € 250
OLD BELOUCH RUG from the region of Herat in north west Afghanistan. It is intact with the original sides and very attractive embroidered kilim ends. Reference 1964. Size 184 x 116cms. Euros 245.
UZBEK SUZANI CURTAIN complete with original loops for hanging. The design has an interesting portrayal of pomegranites. Reference 1078. Size 150 x 96cms. €140.

MEXICAN KILIM. A finely woven little flat weave with soft lustrous wool. Reference 1790. 79 x 40cms. €49.
TURKISH VILLAGE RUG a pleasing old example with a rich array of colours and lustrous pile. It comes from Central Anatolia in the region north of Konya. It is complete with original sides and kilim ends. Reference 1963. Size 228 x 121cms. Euros 245.
FINE OLD PERSIAN SHAWL (TORMEH) from the city of Kirman in southern Persia. The piece has repeated delicate embroidered boteh (leaf) designs in the field. Reference 1271. Size 190 x 90cms. €95.
EMBROIDERED PERSIAN KURDISH KILIM SOFFREH from Quchan north of Meshed in Persia. Reference 1681. Size 180 x 100cms. €180.
CHINESE KILIM WITH CAUCASIAN DESIGN. A recent piece with a fine regular weave and pleasant blend of colours. Its square shape could make an ideal wall decoration, table cloth or throw for a sofa or bench. Reference 1333. 152 x 152cms.Euros 185
UNUSUAL BALTIC EMBROIDERY. This piece is made of two halves joined in the centre to provide a square cloth which may have been used as a church decoration. It is probably Polish and is in excellent condition. Reference 1546. 160 x 156cms. €130.
