PERSIAN VILLAGE RUG an early 20th century finely woven rug from the village of Lilihan in the western Persian region of Hamadan. The wools are soft and lustrous and the piece is in excellent condition. The square shape is most unusual and it may have been woven for a special order. Reference 1966. Size 120 x 117 cms. Euros 650.

ANTIQUE BELOUCH RUG. A piece dating from the early 1900's and woven by Belouch of the region of Firdaus which is an oasis town in the north east Persian province of Khorrassan. The dyes are natural with especially rich indigo blue. The brown centre panel appears to be natural camel hair. Reference 1835. 147 x 84cms. €380.

ERSARI PRAYER RUG A very old piece with exceptional colouring, especially the saffron yellow and indigo. The piece is in excellent condition and bears the date AH1314 together with a long inscription (part shown here) across the top of the rug. I am currently working on the translation and welcome any help. The piece is from northern Afghanistan, first half of the 20th century. Reference 1751, Size 152 x 97cms., €1,250.
