LURI PERSIAN TRIBAL BAG an interesting early 20th century small jewellery bag or "chanteh" from the Lurs in south west Persia. The wool is dense and lustrous and the bag has a striped kilim back. Reference 1868. Size 29 x 31cms. Euros 180.
CAMEL HEAD DRESS - PERSIAN KURDISH OR LURI an extraordinary example which is complete with original hand beaten metal rings and plaited ropes. In addition to the main vertical spike there is an additional smaller cap surmounted by a blue ceramic bead and horse hair tassel. The condition is perfect. Pieces with similar characteristics can be seen on Plates 103 and 104 of "HORSE AND CAMEL TRAPPINGS FROM TRIBAL IRAN" by Parviz Tanavoli. Reference 1880. 66cms from top to tassels and 42cms wide. UZBEK KILIM TENT BAG/ARTIFACT an old, well used, single bag which originates from an Uzbek group near Maimana in the north west corner of Afghanistan. The original fastening loops are intact as are most of the decorative tassles. The border designs surrounding the central field are finely woven. Reference 2214.
